About AMEF
What?
The Arts Meets Environment Festival (AMEF) is a three-year programme of arts workshops, festival days and training opportunities for young people aged between 14 and 27.
The word 'arts' can mean many things. Past, present and future arts workshops with the AMEF include:
- Art
- Music
- Junk percussion with Big About Music
- DJ workshops
- Drama
- Murder Mystery acting
- Filming
- Filming & Multimedia
Who?
- The Festival Committee...
... is a group of young people who take part in the workshops themselves. The Committee leads the project, with the support of the Project Co-ordinator (Ros) and the Steering Group, and is the driving force in deciding what happens next with the Arts Meets Environment Festival
- The Steering Group...
... is there to help make things happen. It is an advisory group, and its job is to make sure that everything is safe and legal so that we can continue to enjoy the free workshops
- The Action Group...
... includes members of the Festival Committee, the Steering Group and other interested parties. It allows the two groups to interact and debate, as well as providing people that we're working with - workshop leaders and people involved with the music festival, for example - a forum to ask questions and let us know how things are progressing.
Anyone can join the Festival Committee and the Action Group. Membership costs nothing, and we have only two requirements:
- That you give only the time that you are willing to give to the AMEF;
- That you attend or otherwise have an interest in the workshops that the AMEF offers
Being part of the AMEF Festival Committee entitles you to many things, including:
- FREE Workshops
- FREE training
- FREE visits to other Festivals
- YOUR SAY in the annual AMEF Music Festival and other event
